Description: The Cryptogamic Section of AZU Herbarium contains a broad range of organisms including mosses, liverworts, hornworts, lichens, and fungi, with an estimated 13000 specimens. Most of these come from the Azores and were collected from 1990. This collection is an important resource for biological studies, such as systematics, diversity and conservation, biological monitoring, climate change and ecology. It is a resource for academics, students, government, private organizations, and the public
